Scott Harrison was honored with the Contractor of the Year award last month at Lake Tahoe during the annual gathering of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Association of California.
Scott, the CEO of Scott Harrison Plumbing and a tradesman with 31 years of experience in the business, was nominated for the award by the PHCC Orange, Riverside & San Bernardino Counties chapter.
The Contractor of the Year Award recognizes “the best of the best.” Recipients have a reputation for personal integrity, for providing quality service to customers, for working to improve their industry and for their commitment to PHCC programs through volunteerism.
“The PHCC of California Contractor of the Year Award is the highlight of my plumbing career,” Scott says. “This award cannot be ‘bought,’ it is given by my contractor peers with whom I have so much respect. There are always many truly qualified candidates each year; it is truly an honor to be selected. This is a blessing, and I thank all of my fellow contractors that made this possible.”
Scott has built a solid reputation in Orange County for skills as a plumber, but he’s also helping to ensure a new generation of skilled workers is trained to meet the growing needs of Southern California communities. Scott is a leader in the PHCC of California’s Ride & Decide program. Through Ride & Decide, Scott and other PHCC contractor-members partner with high school students during a six-week summer work project. This learning experience introduces young men and women to the skills needed to become a plumber or heating/cooling technician, allowing them to make an informed decision about whether this a career path that interests them.
Scott has been a member of PHCC for 12 years and currently serves on the organization’s national board of directors. He’s also the president of the local chapter’s education foundation.
