Here is some of our beautiful work on a recently finished bath remodel.
The customer loves the seat in the shower and the shower valve that controls the hand held separately.
This is an example of a Toto Washlet seat and wall mounted controls. It is very comfortable experience.
Look at the difference between older Rinnai tankless and new Rinnai tankless water heater.
The photos show that the old units had a male end for vent attachment. The new ones have a female end for vent attachments along with a built in condensate trap. If you need a replacement heater your may have some venting to replace at the same time.
Customers please check your water heater flex lines. If you have ones that look like braided stainless steel you have a ticking time bomb. We have had 2 failures last week. You may not know it but they are not metal at all where the water goes, they are PLASTIC. Not a very good quality and if you have them and they are over 5 years old you should consider replacing them. The picture of the washing machine shows that it was filled up by the leak of the water heater.
How many of you would like a bidet toilet seat? I bet if you asked most American folks the would say no. Well I would have been one of the no’s a few weeks ago. After a trip out of the country and having a real nice experience of having a bidet toilet seat in every hotel bathroom I had a chance to use one. Boy, what an eye opener! No wonder the other half of the world uses them. I thought it was great.
Here are 2 types. One has the controls on the handle. This is better for retrofit situations. The other shows the controls built into the wall. This is more on the construction/remodel application but much nicer as it is easier to operate.
Listen to Scott’s Advice in Keeping Your Dryer Vents Safe
KEEPING YOUR DRYER VENTS MAINTAINED
I would like to speak about clothes dryers and their venting.
Clothes dryers and their venting have parameters of how long it should be run and how many 90s are to be included.
Most dryer vents are not cleaned on a regular basis and a lot of them have holes allowing that lint to leak out and get all over behind the dryer and in the water heater areas. This is very dangerous as it is inflammable and it can cause house fires, so you should be inspecting your dryer vents and cleaning behind your dryers and washers and keeping that debris away from the water heater.
Also, our modern water heaters are affected. They are safe, but that dryer lint can prevent them from working, not actually causing a fire but actually shutting the heater down and causing you more repairs.
If you just keep your house neat and tidy and the dryer vent nice and tight, you will not have this trouble.
Tips For Checking Toilet Leaks
Tips For Checking Toilet Leaks
Scotty Harrison here. Today’s hot tech topic is toilets.
Did you know toilet leaks can cost you a lot of money? Money that is going right down the drain and you will not even know it.
How you can test if your toilet is leaking or not is:
Step 1. Pull up the tank lid.
Step 2. Drop three drops of food coloring in the tank.
Step 3. Put the tank lid back, do not do anything to the toilet, wait about five minutes.
Step 4. When you see any color in the bowl, you have money escaping out through your toilet.
You want to save money on your toilet, keep it from leaking, give it a test. Have a great day!
Listen to Scott’s Tips on Keeping Your Cooling System Maintained this Summer
Hot Tips for Maintaining Your Cooling System this Summer
We are coming into the cooling season.
One of the things you should be looking for is changing your filters. A filter is one of the lifeblood of the system and when it is dirty, it is going to cause you to spend extra money on energy for either heating or cooling.
Another thing that you need to check, many of our thermostats these days have batteries that help hold the programs during times of power loss or maybe even operate the thermostat and those batteries need to be changed annually.
A quick little tip for our summertime here is check your batteries and check your filters. We are used to do that. We could come out and do that on a complete inspection of your system.
You would think that with a name like Orange a city would have some sort of citrus crop history, but the city of Orange, California was not a citrus producing city. It was named Orange because the originally proposed name was rejected by the officials in Washington when the application to become a city was rejected. The original name choice was Richland. Orange is also the only city in California to be built around a plaza, and as a result it was given the nickname “The Plaza City.”
